Computers and internet access are absolutely crucial in my business. Unless your life has the simplicity of a 16-year-old, you must have Information Technology to help you complete your tax return. The tax laws change at the drop of a hat. The current theme of these changes is, “Here’s a new law, it’s retroactive back to January, and implement it by tomorrow.” I rely on technology to keep me current with these changes and serve my clients with excellence.

In running a business, as in all of life, each of us only has a limited amount of time and energy. I have to decide how to spend that. What I sell to my clients is my time, my knowledge, my experience, and my expertise. So, when I spend time or energy doing things outside my expertise, I am missing an opportunity to use my energy to generate revenue for my business. I could take the time to figure out the complexities of my computers, but I don’t want to do so. That would be a poor investment of the limited time I have.

Just recently I had a popup warning and immediately wondered: is this a virus or is this real? I could have taken the time to puzzle it out, but I knew it was a wiser choice to just ask Holston IT. I asked, and I had an answer within minutes. I was back to focusing on serving my own clients.

I have been in this industry for 25 years and, in some form or fashion, we have relied on computers for that entire time. So, I have dealt with IT vendors for many years. Holston IT is, by far, the most competent and the most responsive. The reason that I switched to Holston IT, and continue to stay with them, is the confidence I have—originally, this confidence was just in Tim. Now, it has extended to the team he has put together.

One year, I had a computer crisis on April 14th. I was in a complete panic, but I emailed Tim right away, and my panic quickly subsided. Tim got up from his lunch and came to my office to fix the problem, because he knew how critical my work was during the last days of tax season. As I have watched Tim hire and train his team, I’ve seen this commitment to fast response and outstanding service emulated by those he now manages. I know I can trust every member of the Holston IT team, and I know they will prioritize giving me fast, competent service. That is priceless.
